Sparrow,
Your spirit, your memory and your love are still here. Your memory has touched each and everyone of us in the family and in the last year so much has happened, some good and some bad. Your memory and the lessons learned help me to be a better man and guide me through the roughest of times.
I am thankful for the time that I have lived with you, the times I have spent with you, the times I got to get to know more about you and the times to learn from you. I am looking forward to applying those lessons as I move forward into the next phase of my life. You would be proud.
I am thankful you brought mom home and you have completed the family. I am thankful mom has Robert and I am thankful for all the good things he does for gramma and how he is there for mom.
I am thankful for being able to realize how strong we really are as a family, with the love and support we have for Gramma.
I am thankful for all the Sox and Bears games and the times spent with the boys. I am thankful for all your sayings that make me smile and all the little things that trigger a fond memory of you.
I think about you every day and what your life has and continues to mean to our family.

Sparrow,
I wanted to say Happy Easter. Gramma and all of us had a good time at Uncle Paul's today. Gramma is doing good and feeling better. We took a family picture today and I know you are standing right there next to gramma. We miss and love you.

My grandfather would have liked and appreciated these last two days. He would have felt proud so many people came to see my grandmother and the family. He would have liked it because it was “old school”. That’s just what my grandfather was, Old School.
I wanted to take a moment and share with all of you a few things that define my grandfather for me and will continue to live on for the family and for me.
Nag – A husband of 63 years, who found “his family”. A man who truly loved his wife, may not have shown it all the time, but a man who loved being married.
Guts – A WWII veteran who “found a home in the Army”. A man that has seen the harsh reality this world, but who has showed us what real courage is, a leader of men and a man that has experiences and stories that very few have.
Ma’Donn – A man who’s passion and love for life, my grandmother’s cooking and the enjoyment of his family makes me want to continue to experience life to its fullest and strive to do more each day.
Que Sera, Sera – A simple man and often a quiet man who looked at things as black or white. A straight shooter as one would say, a man who believed what’s “right is right and to things the right way. He is looking down on us all right now ad telling us not to worry about him, “What will be, will be”.
What’d The Sox Do? - A man who in later years of his life continued to enjoy his wife’s cooking, his wine, “his chair”, his TV and his passion for sports. More importantly, a man who was still looking to make a connection with a grandson. I will always cherish “Tuesday Night with Sparrow”, for the simple reason when the chips were down, my grandfather still did what he did. He gave us the opportunity to “do what we do” for the family.
Sparrow – Simply put, a loving husband, father of two and grandfather of three (at times) obnoxious and adoring grandsons who really pushed him to tell us more about him and his life. As we all learned about him, we realized he is a man who rose above hard times to make it in this world, to find his stride, but he was never to proud to share that with us or anyone else for that matter. Simply put, he relished in telling all us, all of you, and many others about it. I thank him for that!
All of us here today have been touched by Primo in one way or the other, he will never be forgotten and his spirit will live on in us all. I know he is happy and proud of his family. I know he is proud of what the possibilities lie ahead for each one of his family members too. Someday, all of us will see him again, but until then it is an honor and a privilege to continue on in this family.

There is a fabulous feast in heaven. You have lived a full life and asked for little. Family, tradition, a good glass of wine, a home cooked meal, the Sox, Bulls and the Bears made you happy. We will miss you terribly.
