Phyllis Johns Obituary

Johns, Phyllis J.
age 96, retired officer of First Interstate Bank of Arizona, passed away on December 25, 2012. Phyllis was born April 7, 1916 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of George C. and Elsie F. (Veerhusen) Wahl. She was a member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association, the Wisconsin Union, and Phi Beta Creative Arts Fraternity. Prior to her retirement in 1981, she was affiliated with the National Association of Bank Women. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Lopeparo of Phoenix, AZ; daughter in law, Bonnie Johns of Madison; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Dean C. (Nancy) Wahl and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Johns; her son, Donald P. Johns; her son in law, Joe Lopeparo, Sr.; and a niece; her mother and father and her twin sister. Per her request, she will be cremated and there will be no visitation or service.

My Mother will be missed by many. I am thankful for all the many friends of hers and mine that have acknowledged her in various ways. Thank you all. Rest in Peace.

I was saddened to hear of Phyllis' passing. She was such a joy to know in Phi Beta Fraternity! Phyllis was so friendly to all (and so witty!)
It was an honor to know Phyllis and to have been able to call her my "sister" in Phi Beta.

I will miss Phyllis so much We were best of friends for 42 years. We never missed a birthday or holiday card for each other. I loved her so much. I only wish I could have talked to her once more. Sincerely, Sally & Don Stahl.
