Herkel, Phillip J. 70 Years. Veteran United States Army - 1st Cavalry - Vietnam/Cambodia. Beloved husband of 47 years to Theresa (nee O'Connor) Herkel; devoted father of William (Tonya) Herkel; loving grandfather of Alyssa Herkel; great-grandfather of Leah Comstock and Amelia Morgan; cherished son of the late Martin (late Anna) Herkel; dear brother of Irene (Richard) Krzeminski, Eleanor (Robert) Herkel, Edwin (Sharon) Herkel, Marion (Donald) Gillen and Helen (Stanley) Latocha; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Lifelong Canaryville resident. Friend to all who knew him. Member FLAG'S Club. Member Canaryville Veterans Association, Memeber V.F.W. Post # 5079. Funeral services 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, from the Thomas McInerney's Sons Funeral Home to St. Gabriel Church. Mass of the Resurrection 10:00 a.m. Pastor Thomas Griffin officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Interment Private. (773) 268-0703.
