Hutchins, Philip Leroy Philip Leroy Hutchins, 87, veteran of WW II and Korea, chaplain and past commander of American Legion post #134 in Morton Grove. Survived by his wife of 42 years Lillian, nee Moos; children Linda (Sam) Caruso and Jeff (Barbara) Schroeder; grandchildren Danielle and Sammy Caruso. Visitation at Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL 60053 Friday 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral service at St. Luke's Christian Community Church, 9233 Shermer Rd. Morton Grove, IL 60053 Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church, where he was a longtime member and presently council president, appreciated. What a great guy. Long time friend. Great sense of humor. Deep Christian faith. Many great memories. Including, him losing the pole and falling in the water, in the Oneonta Gorge,in Oregon. Ha-Ha!
