Dear Collins family,
I just learned of Phil's passing and am so saddened. I have known Phil since his Comdisco days when I was his client at Goldman. He left a mark and memory with me that moved me to write this. He was a consumate professional, but also one of the most caring and genuine people I have known. He loved his family more than anything and I still remember the T-ball coaching stories he told with such passion in the 90's. You were lucky to have him in your life and I hope those memories bring warmth to you forever.

My condolences to you all.

Dear Collins family, I am deeply saddened to hear of this news. I worked with Phil at Topio and he was a joy to be around and always smiling and laughing and he clearly loved his family. My heart and prayers go out to you as the loss of a loved one is devastating but know that we are so lucky for the time that we have with our loved ones. The beauty is that we have the promise to see our loved ones again in Heaven. May God give you and your family comfort, rest, peace and strength to move ahead. With great sympathy, Victoria Smith

To Phil's family:

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Phil while he was at Comdisco and I at the State of Indiana.

He was a 'real' person and a great guy to associate with. He had a good work ethic and always did his best to handle any situation or problem in a professional manner.

I am deeply sorry for your loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

May God bless the Collins family during this sadden time.

Dear Kathy, Kevin, and Courtney,

Dan reached me Sunday in Australia with the horrible news. I am just devastated by what happened. All of us looked up to Phil as we grew up. Though we have grown apart with adulthood, I still remember such good times. Mostly, I remember you all trusting me with your house and the dogs so many times. It meant a lot to me.

I am so sorry that I can't be there. Getting back from Australia proved impossible. I'll visit you all when I return.

Dear Kathy,

Words cannot express the sadness that we are feeling for you and your wonderful family. We love Phil and admired him as a father, friend and colleague.

When I asked Phil to join me at Comdisco from where we had worked together at DEC, he took a moment to think about it and then jumped right in. He made an immediate impact and contributed to our record growth. But, that is only Phil the colleague.

His dedication to his friends and family was outstanding and that is what will be missed the most. May this time of sorrow become a time of remembrace that someone as wonderful as Phil brought so much to our world.

Love always - Ralph, Marie, Rob & Laura Petti

When I received the news that Phil had passed I was stunned and saddened for your loss. My brother Jim had considered Phil one of his closest friends from St Bernadette, and I could see why. Phil was first class from the word go. What a rock solid individual. God bless you.

Dear Collins Family,
I was deeply sorry to hear of Phil's passing.
Phil and I met at WIU when we were both president's of our Fraternity's. We spent my last semester as roomates. It was probably the best semester of my 4 years. The stories could go on for pages, but to sum it up, Phil was a class act, and a leader. He will be in my family's hearts and prayers.
God Bless all of you,and Phil.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy to the Collins Family. I did not know Mr. Collins, but I do know how it feel to lose a loving parent in death. I draw comfort from the Bible where it says "Our Heavenly Father will actually swallow up death forever and he will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. I hope you find comfort for this text.

Dear Kathy, Kevin and Courtney,

Phil is as good a guy as it gets in this world. I have just the best memories of his dry sense of humor, his common sense, and his pride in his family. You all were first in his heart and life. Kathy, Phil always had a twinkle in his eye when he spoke of you, you were the love of his life!
