I thought of Phelicia today, its been since 1980s when we worked at Faces together throwing parties, and I googled her name and sadly found her obituary. My deepest condolences to her family which I do not know, as I was part of her "other" family at Faces where we all still live the 80s in our memory. I'm only sorry I missed seeing her in recent years.

Laurie,
What a incredible woman Phelicia was and is.
To the fun in the sun to the laughter and tears sharing so much of life with MOM and FRAN by the pool! Mom's Heart was so big and will FOREVER be in mine.

Laurie,
Tante Phelicia was very dear to my heart since I was a little boy. She was my favorite! She was and is a beautiful, kind-hearted woman. I can still picture her in the pool (shallow end), drinking ice-water, keeping her eye on the kids. SHE NEVER CAME OUT OF THE POOL!
All our love,
Lee, Michelle, Briggs and Tess Kraus

No one ever had to ask, “Phelicia who?” Everyone knew Phelicia, and Phelicia knew everyone!
Phelicia and I go way back to the days of Le Petite Chateau, our youth, funny times, silly times, crazy antics, but she always got the job done and everyone loved her.
Phelicia loved people. She enjoyed bringing people together, the more the merrier.
It was Phelicia and I that helped each other get our first credit card, the much sought after Marshall Fields charge card. Once you had a Marshall Fields card, you could get any credit card you wanted. We worked together to accomplish getting those cards, and we were successful! Getting that card was a big deal in those days.
During the years that Phelicia worked at Le Petite, Phelicia could be found eating a late dinner out –- she loved eating the "Garbage Salad" at The Black Angus on Western Avenue.
I remember meeting her at a restaurant on Rush Street with a group of people to have dinner with Jackie Mason.
Phelicia loved to have a good time and she knew how to do it.
The picture I have posted is how I remember Phelicia best, on the telephone, ALWAYS on the phone! In fact, wherever she was, she was always running to a payphone to call Laurie. Always, first and foremost, Laurie was on her mind!
I was very sad to see this obituary even though I have not been in touch with Phelicia in recent years. She was a good person, a good human being and I’m certain she was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. After all, she was really a kid at heart.
My sincere condolences, Laurie. May her memory be for a blessing.
