On 3/18, I found out about Paul from someone at World's Gym. Due to work, I have been away from the gym for about 3 weeks. I'm still in shock and saddened by his sudden departure. Actually, I'm upset that i didn't find out till now. To be honest, it has not even hit me yet.
Paul was not only my trainer, but a friend and like a brother. He was the epitome of goodness and always carried an upbeat energy level with a smile to say hey "everything is ok, don't worry about the small stuff".
He and I would have discussions about everything from his goal of publishing his poetry, to investing in the stock market, his off/on relationship, his love for his family and brothers to his love of relaxing at the beach.
Wow, i always pull up to the gym looking for his car and hoping to say ...hey what's up "Dude". And now, I feel like everyone...just "robbed" of a good person I enjoyed knowing and can talk about whatever.
I will always remember Paul's laugh, smile, energy, intelligence and his drive to be the best trainer. Ms and Mr. Palasti you raised not only a great son....but a good friend to all!!! I will always remember Paul...
I will be sad for a long time, but I'm glad that i met Paul and got to know him on a personal level. But, i still have problems indulging this ...it's just not right.
My heart goes out to Paul's family and friends....

Dear Palasti Family,
I did not know Paul personally, but I would see him training others at the gym. He seemed to be a very nice person. I just wanted you to know that I am praying for your family and if I can be of assistance to you please let me know.

Dear Palasti Family:
I was deeply saddened to hear about Paul’s death. I know how difficult this time must be for his family and friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Paul was my personal trainer a few years ago and I mostly remember how encouraging and motivating he was. He was such a kind, gentle soul. He had a special kind of energy that was contagious. He will be greatly missed by all. May God bless you and your family during this time and always.

Like everyone who has written, I admired Paul's physical energy and his keen focus on his clients. While he was not my trainer, he always had a cheery word when we ran into one another at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. His stylish appearance, too, was noteworthy: he was all around inspiring. We're all saddened by his vastly too early passing. It's heartbreaking in so many ways. My sympathies to his loved ones.
