Patrick Murphy

I remember Pat very well. He was in my graduating class from St. Pat's HS in Chicago. He was a very funny guy, and I might have had my best time in my 4 years at St. Pat's when I met with him to try out for the St. Pat's Basketball Team - The Shamrocks. Neither one of us made the team, but his antics during those tryouts made me laugh really hard, and I remember that day 58 years ago like it was yesterday. Comments made on January 23, 2023. I miss you Pat.

Dearest Debbie,
We are both so sorry for your loss. We will always remember Pat for his crazy sense of humor and his warm heart.
The world will seem a little more serious and a little bit colder without Pat.

Debbie and Paddy-we recently received an E mail that said "When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are smiling and everyone around you is crying." We're sure everyone will be crying and Patrick is smiling. Though his life was cut short, he experienced a wonderful wife and family. He loved life to the fullest and he touched all of us deeply-- his kindness, his fun loving spirit, his willingness to do for others. Mark grew up with Pat and will miss him dearly. Debbie, you fulfilled Pat's life so much. We've never seen him happier than after he married you. We know he's smiling down on you now and he knows God will get you through this difficult time. He smiling also because he knows that one day you and all those he loves will be spending eternity in the most beautiful place anyone can be, and Pat and Faith will be watching over you and praying for you until then. You will always be in our prayers and want you to know we're here if there's anything you need or anything we can do.
Love, Mark and Annette Melka
