Dear Pat.
You are my godmother, and my mother's college best friend. You were the first adult, after my parents, whom I loved. My childhood and adolescence was enriched beyond measure by your warmth, generosity, sassy wit, and love of a good time.
And when at age 17 I was diagnosed with cancer, 13 years ago, you dropped everything and raced to Green Bay WI to support me and my family. Thank you again.
Thank you for being you. I miss you.

All I can say is that you can't chose your family, but you can chose your friends, and I am glad you CHOSE to be my Aunt Pat.

Ah, Pat, we knew and love ye well! As a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, you were a light for all of us. Thank you for keeping your wits about you when all around were losing theirs...a great inspiration and friend to all of us! Love, Shari S"-)

I remember Pat best as the ICE Conference Day-of Registration Chair. I was the Conference Volunteer Chair and would find the people to work with her. Her organization made filling those positions a snap.
And I hope she no longer needed the localtalk connectors and cabling I gave her. She was always looking for ways to make things better for her students.

Educators from throughout the state, along with the hundreds of Illinois Computing Educators members that knew Pat so well will miss her dearly. So many people were appreciative of her outstanding contributions to the ICE state computer/education/technology organization and grateful for her commitment to her students and her dedication to quality education.
Thank you Pat for all you did during your time with us. You touched many peoples lives and truly made a positive difference in our world. We will remember you fondly. You are in our prayers today and always.

Sad News and Great Memories
The Illinois Computing Educators Organization would like to recognize the contributions and commitment to the growth of the organization by Pat Tomasek. While Pat was ICE Treasurer and Member of the Executive Board from 1991 to 1995 this was not the limit of her involvement. She was the Day of Registration Chair and Co-Chair from the 1989 ICEBreaker held at Indian Trail Junior High in Addison to the ICE 2000 Conference held at Niles West High School. Among other numerous duties, she was a volunteer for NECC 2001 and a member of the selection committee for The ICE Technology Teacher of the Year Award.
With Pat’s quick smile and can do attitude she has made many friends in ICE and for ICE.
She will be missed.

As much as I will miss my cousin, I have years and years of memories. I can chuckle every time I think of some of the antics we pulled as youngsters. Even as adults we laughed and clowned around like kids. I will always be grateful that I had Patty in my life.

Pat has been a good friend and colleague since we first met at an ICE meeting.
She has helped me professionally many times and invited me to both of her houses in Tinley. Pat will be greatly missed by all her friends and students. My condolences to her family.
