Patricia Joyce Obituary

Joyce, Patricia Ann (nee Hanavan), a long-time resident of Palos Heights, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was born November 4, 1928, in Chicago. She was the loving wife of the late William Joyce, long time head of the Teamsters Union Local 710 in Chicago. She was a graduate of St. Sabina School in Chicago and the Holy Family Academy in Beaverville, IL. She had worked as a legal secretary and also as an entertainer at the Gaslight Club in Chicago. "Pat" was always happy to sing for her many friends, " said her daughter, Jeriann Sweeney of Palos Heights. "She blessed us with her joy of life, sense of humor, frank candor and was never at a loss for words. She was a source of encouragement and support to her family and many friends and she was greatly loved." She is survived by her brother, Robert (Elle) McGowan, her daughter Jeriann (Michael) Sweeney, her granddaughter Fallon Joyce Sweeney, her niece Denise McGowan and nephews William (Leslie), Brian (Nancy), Sean (Michele), Kevin (Wendy), Daniel (Kelly) McGowan, the Aler family and many close friends. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 7, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kraeer Funeral Home, 4061 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. A memorial service in Chicago is planned for later in the year. Donations in her memory to the Salvation Army are gratefully appreciated.
