My Dearest Best Friend,
It has been a very, very long and hard life we have shared together.

We shared hugs, kisses, laughter, fear, as well as tears of sadness and joy in our 34 years together. You were always there for me to guide me when I had lost my way. You believed that I was strong, smart, beautiful, and caring, when I did not see that in myself. You taught me to believe that there is GOOD in this World and to trust my heart. I never had to say a word for you to understand were I was coming from and support me in what ever I needed. I guess that's what sisters do....Thank YOU for being mine.

As I sit here a wonder why I lost my sister and best friend? How could God be so mean? How can I move on with out hearing your voice, or feeling your hugs? I realize that you are here with me telling me you are alright, that you have perpared me as well as Debbie, and Bob for this day.

I don't feel sadness about the past -the Wish I had told you more that I loved you, I needed you, I cared about you, I am so proud of you, I want to be just like you. Because I know you knew and I know you felt the same way about me. I fell sadness about the future... ALL the I Wish Patty was here to share this, to love this, to feel this, to give us her shoulder to cry on, to laugh with us, to cry with us, to watch all our children grow up to be who they want to be.

I made a promise to you that I would do everything I could here on this earth to help your children grow and live the life you wanted for them. And that my friend I will do.
I will NEVER forget you for as long as I live, I LOVE YOU and Will always, always MISS YOU.
Until we meet again my dear friend you will be held forever in my heart and mind.
Love always and ever,
Vernie

Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time. I knew Pat from the animal hospital. She had quite an incident with one of my kittens almot 20 years ago. Even so, she always asked about Inkie and hoped she was doing well. Inkie left me earlier in May at the age of 19 and now she and Pat are becoming reaquainted.

There is a poem written for our cherished pets when they pass,
"The Rainbow Bridge"
Our friend Pat rescued many 'homeless' animals over the years. We were told that, even as a young girl her sisters had to sometimes share a room with whatever lost critter Pat found on her way home.
We adapted the words of this poem as a tribute to her generous soul.

The Rainbow Bridge
When her beloved pets passed,
they went to a place just outside of Heaven's Gate called the Rainbow Bridge.
It is a place of sunshine, rolling hills & lush green meadows.
Here, the old became young,
the ill or injured were made strong & healthy,
just as she remembered them in her dreams of days & times gone by.
Their days are full of running and playing.
They are happy & content.
But one thing isn't yet right.....
There is someone special they had to leave behind.
Until one day....Her animals suddenly stop & look.
Off in the distance, they see her!
Their eyes are bright and intenet.
Their body quivers with anticipation.....
Today their day has come!
They bound across the fields.
With a welcoming embrace, she and they are now reunited.
As they look into each other's trusting, loving eyes,
they realize that they had never left each other's hearts,
and now......
They can cross the bridge......together.

You're forever in our hearts, Pat!

Debbie, Vern, Bob and family..
Words can't express my sympathy.
How do you say, " Im sorry" for the loss of your
sister, your wife, your mother... so sudden, so young.
There is a quote that goes something like this, "Life is NOT measured by the time we are here, but what we have made of our time while we were here.
Patty gave alot... to her family.. her children, & to hundreds of animals she loved, saved, and rescued. Whatever I can do, Please dont hesitate to call me..
May God be with ALL of you...
May she rest in peace..

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I knew Pat from the animal hospital where I sometimes fill. Pat was always a great help to me and made me feel welcome and at home. I enjoyed working with her. Even though I didn't know her outside of work, I know she was a wonderful person. When she talked of her family, you could tell how much she loved them. Again my deepest sympathies for your loss
