Orrie and I were Sigma Phi Delta fraternity brothers at Marquette University and he was famous for his red socks. He was also famous for being able to recite The Shooting of Dan McCrew. He went on to a successful business career and he will be missed.

Orrie and I were friends at Marquette. He introduced me to crooked rum soaked cigars and red socks. We had many good times. I was very saddened to hear about his untimely death.

I was saddened to hear about the death of your father, Orrie, who was a Mt. Carmel HS classmate and friend. As you can see by my last name, I always sat in front of him for our four years there, but he was way ahead of me as a student and generous friend. I will remember him at Mass tomorrow as well as all of you as you mourn the loss of a wonderful father and friend. Fr. Quinn R. Conners, O.Carm.
