Feb. 9, 1919 - June 2, 2008 Former resident of Oakland, CA A memorial service for Olga Ruth Hughes is scheduled for Monday, June 16th, 2008, at 10:00 am. Chapel of the Chimes at 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, California. Olga Ruth Hughes died with her family at her side on June 2, 2008 in her home at Rose Schnitzer Manor in Portland, Oregon. She was born Olga Ruth Henderson on February 9, 1919 in Oakland, CA where she lived most of her life. She married Gordon Kenneth Hughes August 20, 1938 with whom she had two children, Marcia and Jim and was happily married for 59 years. She was widowed in 1998 and then moved to Portland in 2006 to be near her daughter. Survivors include: her daughter Marcia, 3 grandchildren, Dan, Jennie and Erin, and 4 great grandchildren, Dharma, Ryan, Jake and Dylan.
