Norman Bilek Obituary

To Aggie and the Bilek "kids" and family, Mr. B. was a big part of the West Lawn community but to me, he and Mrs. B. were mom's friends from the crying room at St. Mary's. May all of you know that you are in my prayers and thoughts, and my heart aches with you.
When I think of Bud I just get a smile on my face. What a great guy he was. Bud, you're up there with a lot of the neighbors. Get a block party going that extends across 67th street and let the angels know what West Lawn is all about. Love to you all.

So very sorry we couldn't extend our condolences in person, we were out of town when we heard of you loss. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Mr. B was one of a kind and we each have such fun and fond memories of him.

Dear Mrs. Bilek, Cathy, Frankie, John-John, Noisy & Joey. You are all in my thoughts as I think back on the wonderful memories of growing up on Kolin Avenue, all of them good ones and "Bud" is a part of those memories. The neighborhood is a little bit quieter now, but his voice will always be heard in our hearts. He is now in very good company with Mickey and so many of our other neighbors that have gone before him, my Dad included. May you find peace knowing that he was a caring, fun-loving spirit who touched so many.

Condolences to the Bilek family. Mr. Bilek was a big part of so many great memories growing up playing for West Lawn. Whether he was coaching us or supporting us from the stands his positive energy was infectious. May you find comfort in knowing he left a lasting impression on so many people.

Our family's have been through alot these last 6+ years. Bud was a great man heaven gained another angel. I will miss that walk up to the altar to collect disussing the horse's with the other usher. He made me smile when I was going through alot. I will miss my decorating and planting buddy. Bud say hi to Mickey,my dad and brother. Bud about the funny's in the bulletin where are they I still haven't found them so I want all my nickels back. Mrs B. and family, I was so sorry to hear about Mr B. I had the pleasure of growing up next door to Mr. and Mrs. B, Mickey (R.I.P.), Joey, Noisey, Johnny, Frankie and Cathy. They were my second family. It was an experience I will never forget! So many good times and memories! And so many parties! You could never go over there without Mr. B pouring you a beer, no matter what time of day it was. "No thanks" was not an option! Lol Mr. B was always ready to help you. And he was always happy, not a day went by that I didn't hear "GOOD MORNIN!!" And one time in particular, when I was in high school, I had been out all night and was trying to sneak in the house before my parents woke up and Mr. B was coming out to go to work, he of course hollers "GOOD MORNIN!!" to me. I tried to get him to keep it down but you know him! He starts asking me about my night, where I had been, who I was with, etc. and here I am trying to get in the house without making a sound. Well, that didn't work, think I was grounded for about 2 weeks! He was a great man and I will miss him dearly! All my love and sympathies, Sue (Bergman)

Norm and I were adversaries between the lines.The gentleman was intense but had fun during the games.On behalf of my wife and daughters,we express our condolences to the Bilek family.

Some of my best baseball memories came from playing on Bud's team. He will be missed. Our prayers are with the family.

Bang Bang

We have many wonderful memories of Bud coaching our son at West Lawn Little League, the barbecues after the games and seeing him and his beautiful wife and family at mass each Sunday at West Lawn Little League. His shining light and kind ways will live on through all the lives he touched and all who knew him. Our prayers and deepest condolences to the entire Bilek family.

Bilek Family,Your father and mother treated everyone with love and kindness.Many years ago I was in the hospital on Christmas and Johnny asked his family if my daughter could stay with them for Christmas and without blinking an eye they said sure.They treated her like family,with love and laughter. I will never forget that. God Bless you all and I am so sorry for your loss.

He was the best baseball man in town and loved by many.He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with.

I am so saddened by the loss of probaly the nicest, kindest, caring and funniest person ever! Dearest Family, We loved my wonderful brother and his wife (Aggie)and family. He will be missed so much...we the Vavra family LOVED HIM so much. I know the angels took him upimmedately.

We have lost a man who, when I think back on my childhood, is someone who I could not wait to see everyday up at Westlawn because you always knew he would be laughing, smiling and would have everyone around in the same spirits within seconds. He took me to my first White Sox Home Opener and told me to tell Duke and Judy to say I had a Doctors Appt. so I could get out of school early. I loved when I found out I was on the BOBCATS because Mr. B was the manager. Celebrate the life of Bud and know that he is reunited with Mickey and they are both watching over your family. Our deepest condolences from the Pote Family!

I'm sending my thoughts and prayers. The Bilek family has lost a wonderful man and the White Sox have lost a terrific fan. I know he is with my dad (Lad Havrlant) up in Heaven joking around like the old days. I am so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Bilek was a great guy. Way back in the day, he was my coach playing at West Lawn for the Twins. He was always kind, upbeat and someone you always wanted to be around because of the way he treated everyone. Rest in peace, coach!
