Nicholas Nicolandis Obituary

Nicolandis, Nicholas G. "Nick Landis" Beloved husband of Theodora (nee Kanellos); loving father of Calliope (Pelopidas Aliferis) Nicolandis and Gregory (Eleni Sarantopoulos) Nicolandis; devoted grandfather of Nicolas, Julia and Antonia; dear brother of Antonis (Fani) Nicolandis, Lilika (Manolis) Sakellaridou, and the late Elitsa Nicolandi of Athens, Greece; fond uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend of many. Born in Suez, Egypt, Nick first worked for the British Army and then sailed the world as an apprentice Captain for the Greek Merchant Marine. He came to the U.S. to attend DeVry Technical Institute and upon completion of his degree, owned electronic stores, most notably Deming-Clark Radio and Television. Later, he was the proprietor of Octagon Club in Chicago for nearly 20 years. Visitation Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Tuesday morning at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL 60660 for funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
