Dear Bernie and Millie:
I wanted to express my sadness at learning of Neal's death. Every one of us that lived in Nippersink knows how much a part of out lives and memories it was (is)and Neal's passing moved me greatly. I am so sorry.

I send my condolences to Mr. and Mrs. Robbins, Sherry and Helayne. I remember each of you and I remember Neal. Neal and I were classmates throughout grammar school. I admit it now, though I would never admit it then, Neal was the best athlete in our grade. Once when a neighbor overheard a few of us griping about Neal being a ‘natural athlete’, he interrupted us and told us how when he left for work early in the morning he would see Neal at Solomon School’s playground practicing basketball; even in the winter time.
I have not seen Neal in over thirty years, however, thanks to our mutual friend, Lane Kaplan, I talked to Neal for more than an hour just a couple of months ago. At first our conversation was a bit stilted but soon the time of separation disappeared and we were reminiscing about our grammar school rivalry. I am deeply grateful to Lane for making this call happen and I am also grateful that Neal was and forever will be a part of my life.
