Dear Bill, John, Joanne and Janet,
It's been so long since we've been together but I have many fond memories of Uncle Bud and Aunt Bubbles and all of you of course. I can still picture their house and the times we came to visit and when you came to visit us on St. Dominic Drive. As I recall, we inherited Freckles from your family and we loved her dearly. My feelings are bitter sweet in that Uncle Bud lived such a long life but feel a sense of sadness that "that" Gerth family have all departed. I truly hope they are rejoicing together, and that all of you are able to celebrate his long and happy life.

Bill, John, Janet, and Joanne,
I've always enjoyed (and am still enjoying) the stories of how your dad and my dad were both inducted into the army on the same day, how they soon became good buddies who later discovered that their girlfriends (your mom and my mom) belonged to the same sewing club, how both couples married in 1943, and how they rented rooms in the same house in Basdrop, Texas. They shared a close and lasting friendship -- and that is a beautiful blessing.
I, too, have warm and happy memories of your parents -- memories that begin in my childhood and continue throughout the years. Your parents were both dear people, and we will always miss them.
