January 30, 2011

I have many wonderful memories of the warm loving home that your mother created for her family. I can still see the counters filled with wonderful pastries, the house filled with people in every room and your mother moving skillfully, like a butterfly from conversation to conversation ---- she always wanted to be included, involved. Miriam Israel was always sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. I have tried to incorporate in my home and in my life her generosity.

I am sorry that I was not able to say this in person to each of you.

warmest regards,

A Letter To Miriam:
You are so beautiful to me....
You are so beautifil to me....
(song by lionel richie)
I know you remember this song. The word that stood out in this song was beautiful. This made you glow.... When I would sing to you that was the only verse I knew, but it did not matter because that was the most important verse! Miriam you are truly missed. Your joy, humor, generosity and special love for your husband and children that you expressed daily will be forever remembered.Your love for your husband was like a pot of "jewelry". I would have said a pot of gold, but we all know that you loved jewelry with a passion. You were always full of surprises and you always knew how and when to make me feel special with your words and facial expressions. I want to thank you and your family for allowing me the opportunity to be part of your life. It has been truly a honor and a blessing. It brought me great pleasure and reward to be involved in enhancing your later years of life. "You are so beautiful to me"
Miss you,Rochelle Velez Smith
