Precious sister in Christ, dear Miriam was (and is, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ).

My friendship with Miriam spanned many decades and I cherish those memories. I dearly loved her, as did our whole family. She was a true and constant friend, always available to help in any way,

Perhaps the thing I loved most about her was her love for God's Word and her able expostion of it.

She taught me many things. Mostly, she was a true Servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, therefore serving all of us. She was dedicated, loyal, sterling in character and always faithful to our Savior.

Although our paths were distance the last few years (my dear husband of sixty years has been disabled the last fifteen and is in a wheel chair, necessitating my care daily)my memories are vibrant!

I know she is sitting at Jesus' feet and I look forward to joining her and others who are in my circle of fellowship who have preceded me to Heaven.

I work for The Moody Bible Institute. Miss Baxter had a long-time relationship with our organization, but I was privileged to get to know her personally during the Atlanta Olympics, when my son, Samuel, and I stayed at her apartment. She was a gracious hostess, and really showed us Atlanta from an insider's perspective. For the most part we attended Olympic events in the morning, and in the afternoon, Miss Baxter would take us to see attractions off the beaten path. Then she would pick a restaurant where we would have dinner, again avoiding the huge crowds that flooded downtown Atlanta.

She was a truly interesting and capable person, with a great love for God. Our time with her is a wonderful memory for both of us.

I was able to visit a couple of times after that, but only briefly. I always hoped Miss Baxter would be able to come to Chicago, but after that, her health began to deteriorate. Although she had a wonderful and successful life, I'm sure she is happy to be in heaven now.
