Vallis, Milton (Ret. Lt. CFD), age 85, late of the East Side, beloved husband of Pat (nee O'Connor) for 59 years, loving father of Judy (Paul) Kniaz and George (Jo) Vallis Ret. Calumet City Police Chief, devoted grandfather of Michael and Thomas Kniaz and Kathryn and Christopher Vallis, dear brother-in-law of Betty Serpe, preceded in death by his sister, Marie O'Byrne, and brothers, Tom, George, and William Vallis, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Visitation Thursday, 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services Friday, April 9, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., from the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago to St. George Church, Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery Evergreen Park, IL. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com

Mrs. Vallis, Judy and George,
I will miss calling Mr. Vallis on his birthday but I will never forget his kindness, respect and great love for his family and friends. Your husband, father and my friend will always be remembered for his friendliness, great smile and love to fish. I pray with you that he will have everlasting peace and happiness with the Lord.
