Michael T. Trusa
Michael T. Trusa, 93, formerly of Yard Street in the Hauto Village section of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly. He was the husband of the late Helen (Krivenko) Trusa, who passed away in 1977.
He worked as a tool and die maker for many years at the former Bundy Tubing Plant, Hometown.
Born in the Hauto Village, he was a son of the late Stephen and Katherine (Pillar) Trusa.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre of Operations with the Eighth Air Force, 860th Bomber Squadron, at the RAF Grafton-Underwood Air Field in England.
Trusa was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.
He was a past president and founding member of the Hauto Volunteer Fire Co., and served with the fire department for many years. He was also a member of the Nesquehoning American Legion and V.F.W. posts.
Surviving are two sons, Mark, and his wife, Margaret, of Lake Hauto, and Jim, and his wife, Lisa, of Fredon, N.J.; a daughter, Maria Trusa Stano, and a brother Thomas, both of Hauto Village; two sisters, Katherine "Kitty" Kinn and Ellie Bonner, both of Nesquehoning; five grandchildren, Megan, Nicole and Kristin Trusa and Logan and Luke Stano; a sister-in-law, Mary Limauro of Nesquehoning; a brother-in-law, Michael Krivenko of Warminster; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen, John, Frank and Joe; and two sisters, Mary Kennedy and Margaret Trusa.
Service: Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 W. Center St., Nesquehoning; Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Francis P. Schoenauer officiating. Military graveside service, SS. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Nesquehoning, under direction of Nesquehoning UVO and U.S. Army. Call 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Veterans service 7 p.m. Sunday by Nesquehoning U.V.O.
