When I think of Mike, humor comes to mind first. Laughing and joking was an all day thing with him. I don't ever remember him angry. I remember him smiling and laughing.
I have tons of memories of him, but the funniest is when I was three years old. We were playing Salon. I was the beautician. He let me put little rubber bands and barrettes in his hair. I thought I made him look beautiful.
He was watching the Cub game when a neighbor came to our door. Obviously he forgot about his hair and went to the door. The neighbor looked confused and said "what's up with your hair?" Mike reached for his head and yelled "Sara!" They both laughed. Mike did get a tad embarrassed.
What I'll miss most about Mike Serrano is his laughter and his jokes.

Grandpa I can't explain in words just how much I miss you. I know it had been awhile since I have seen u. But I swear I feel your presence all the time. There's not a day that goes by that I wish i could take back time and just go to your house and u would be there. I pray to God to just give you back to our family, because we all need you. You are the one who has made me into a strong willed woman. And I'm extremely fortunate and grateful to have a Grandfather like you. I can remember it as if it were yesturday, the time when you picked me up from school, and you kept insisting to the teacher that my name was "Mamas". She was in shock that you had forgotten my real name! hehehe! But that was the great humor of yours that won over the many hearts that u had in your lifetime. I miss you so so so much Grandpa, and I would die a thousand times just to have you back in my life even if it's just for one more day. I just need you to know that I love you so so so much!! I will be sure to tell my son, your great grandson, just how wonderful of a man you were. And I will remind him everday who you were so that he can become someone like you someday! I love you, and may your soul rest in peace.
