Michael Realmuto Obituary

Realmuto, Sr., Michael J. 59, of Coloma, MI, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at the Bronson Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Mike was born on June 1, 1954 at the Great Lakes Naval Station to John and Bernice Realmuto. He was a graduate of East Leyden High School, Franklin Park, IL class of 1972. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology and earned his degree in architecture. He was a self-employed architect in the Greater Chicago Area for many years and for the last seven years in Coloma. While living in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, he was actively involved in the neighborhood watch program. Later in life, he was very active in the Coloma Rod and Gun Club and the Coloma Congregational Church. He was a quiet, gentle individual with a loving heart. He had an incredible intellect and a passion for learning. He is survived by his wife, Heidi; his mother, Bernice Realmuto; his sons, Michael (Kelly) Realmuto, Jr., Adam (Lauren) Kerlin; and Christopher Fa'asoa; his daughters, Lindsey (Josh Berg) Realmuto, Cecily (Steve) Finehout, Stephanie (Corey) James, Quinn Kerlin, and Margrethe Kerlin; his brother, Russell (Catherine) Realmuto; his sister, Laura (Jim) Heald; his grandchildren, Esme, Ameria, Alexander, Amiee, Ezra, Adele, and Lily; and his aunts and uncles, Sam (Elsie) Realmuto, Carmella (Bernie) Kowalski, and Michael (Barbara) Realmuto. Services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3rd at the Coloma Congregational Church, at 182 S. Church St., Coloma, MI.
