I am so saddened by this I could not express anything until now. Mike and I would talk a lot, usually about the Cubs. For me, he was the go to guy as far as what was going on with the team. He kept me well informed. One thing he always said to me was that when the Cubs get to the Series, he would like for us to go down and hang with the crowd outside Wrigley. Let's hope there is a
crowd this year. I will be happiest that he will get to be there.

I only saw Mike for the last half hour of his and my work days, but he impressed me with his strong work ethic and sincerely warm generosity (shared his candy).
I never missed a chance to raz the so called cubs fans at work, but I knew Mike was a TRUE fan and I never messed with him - he knew his facts too well. I will truly miss him.
My truly heart felt condolences to the entire family.

Cyndi,
My thoughts have always been with love when I went back of the memories of you and Mike. I know the love he had for you was something many of us never have in our lifetimes and the love from you back made it the same.
On a whim...I took a box of old things down the other day and the kids got to sort through cards I saved for them through the years.
Jon, Cassidy and Kristyn have always laughed of the good times they had with you both. Who can forget Star Trek and Saved By the Bell....and the Cubs....how many fond memories I have..
Rita and family...I know the love and I can't imagine your pain...just can't...my heart is with you.
Please accept my condolences and more importantly my friendship if ever you need to talk, Cyndi. I will always be there for you the way you and Mike were there for my family.
With the sincerest of sympathy and love,
Karen, Jonathan, Cassidy and Kristyn
