Michael Parey Obituary

Parey, Dr. Michael USAFR Col., Ret., age 63, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 27, 2006, in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Ann Owens Parey, USAFR Lt. Col., Ret. of Capitan, NM; son, Todd Parey; mother, Lee Parey; sister, Nancy Helman; grandson, Jordan Parey and his mother Heather Tillery, and all his beloved animals. Michael was raised in Chicago and attended Knox College in Galesburg, IL, received his DDS from the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Dentistry, and his post graduate degree in Pediatric Dentistry from The Loyola University Chicago School of Dentistry. He entered the Air Force in 1967, served in Okinawa, Japan and retired in 1990 as a Liaison Officer for the USAF Academy. Because of the gentle way he had with children they looked forward to going to the dentist; caring for those children and their families brought him so much joy. Michael was a very special person that touched everyone who knew him. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Liebmann, Dr. Elconin, Dr. Ortolano, and all their staff for their compassion, laughter, and hope. Private graveside services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Fort Stanton Cemetery in Fort Stanton, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society, 430 Gavilan Canyon Rd., Ruidoso, NM 88345.
