Michael Peter Nellessen, Jr.

1954 - 2017

Michael Peter Nellessen, Jr., 62, of Twin Lakes, Wis., died Jan. 26, 2017, at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1954. The son of the late Michael and Janet (Kaduk) Nellessen Sr. On Oct. 1, 1993, in Woodstock, Ill., he was united in marriage to Dawn Cambell who preceded her in death on April 30, 2016. During his life Michael enjoyed volunteering at the Twin Lakes American Legion. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, gardening and going gambling. He collected antiques. He loved to socialize with friends. He enjoyed going to Meat Raffles and was an avid Cubs fan.

He is survived by his four children: Michael Nellessen of Genoa City, Wis., Kimberly (Quinton) Britton of Grand Marsh, Wis., Sandra (Rebecca Amarantes) Nellessen of Arlington, Tex., and Matthew (Nicole) Nellessen of Friendship, Wis. Further survived by six grandchildren, Dylan and Tyler Aranda, Quinton and Isabel Britton, Jack Nellessen and Kaiden Amarantes. Survived by his brother, James (Kathy) Nellessen; sisters, Patricia (David) Schaefer, Catherine (Max) Humbaugh, Diane (Mike) Etten, Donna (Mark) Thelen, Janet (Dan) Breese, Susan (Bob) Taylor, Michelle (Russ) Nelson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 2302 Church St. Johnsburg, IL. Burial will be in parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. Online condolences Haaselockwoodfhs.com.
