Vicky Kay “Ditmore” Pudwill of Elysian Fields earned her angel wings on January 24, 2026, at the Heritage House in Marshall, Texas, after a 3-year long battle with cancer. Vicky was born to Raymond Shelton and Norma Catherine “Yandel” Ditmore. Vicky was born May 24, 1959, in Houston, Texas where they resided until Vicky, age 13. Her family relocated to Elysian Fields, Texas where Vicky attended Elysian Fields High School and graduated in 1977. Dennis and Vicky met in Great Lakes, IL where they worked in the same office. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1994, in Zion, Illinois. In 1999 Dennis, Vicky and their family moved to Elysian Fields where they currently reside. They both worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in the claims division. Vicky worked there until her retirement in 2017.
Vicky had a passion for reading and would read 3 or 4 books a week until she became unable to. She also enjoyed playing board games, especially Scrabble, where she often won. Going to the movies with her family was another one of her passions, along with watching British Murder Mysteries. She also enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends whenever she could. She had an infectious smile that would light up the room. Vicky loved spending time with her grandchildren and could often be heard singing You Are My Sunshine to them and they all loved their Mimi very much. She will be missed very much and never forgotten. She made everyone around feel like they were the most important person in the world, everyone that knew her felt the same.

There is so much I could say about Vicky, I guess what I wish I could’ve said to her before she left us is thank you! Thank you for accepting me, my mother Jessica m. Cowart, and my brother as part of her family. Thank you for making such an amazing and loving son who treats me and my siblings like his own. She raised a amazing son and I will forever be grateful to her because I finally have the father I never had.
