To the Lefkow family,

My deepest sympathy. I have lost an old friend from my early days in Chicago. I lived in the same graduate student housing as Michael the summer of 1966. He was so very welcoming and accepting of a young woman from Kansas and always treated me with respect. I was fortunate after many years to see him again within the last 2 years when he walked into Northwestern Library where I work in Circulation. We were both surprised and shared a positive conversation. My deepest condolences to all who were fortunate to be his friend. Your loss is my loss.
