Michael Holan Obituary

Mike was friend for more than 20 years. As the years went by, we would catch up either by phone or in person every year or so. He shared his joys and sorrows and met all with humor, grace and a humble spirit. It was in trying to track him down and catch up that I see his obituary...
I wanted to send my condolences to the family he loved so much as well as his extended family and friends. I am honored to have known him and will forever miss him.

I AM SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS IN PARTICULAR, AND IN GENERAL, ALL WHO HAD THE PRIVELEDGE OF KNOWING MIKE. I HAD THE HONOR & PLEASURE OF WORKING W/ MIKE @ 5/3 FOR 3 YRS. A TRUE GENTLEMAN WHO ALWAYS HAD A SMILE & LEFT ME FEELING A LITTLE BETTER ABOUT MYSELF & THE WORLD.PLLEASE KNOW TJAT MIKE & ALL HIS LOVED ONES ARE IN MY PRAYERS & THOUGHTS

My sincere thank you and the thanks of Mike's children, brothers, sisters, and nieces and nephews, for all the stories you have shared with us about Mike in your lives, and for your love and caring for us. The way he lived his life was a testament to his response to God's call to him to rise above his difficulties by trusting in God. May God give each of us the grace to respond to Him in trust.

Dear Mary Ann,

I was so sorry to hear the news of Mike’s passing. I won’t tell you what a great man he was, I am sure you know that and everyone has told you so already.

I will always remember how Mike used to bring in a pound of Starbuck’s coffee, back in the days before there was a store on every corner, whenever he would visit the office. I’m not sure I ever really liked his coffee, but he had a way of making everyone feel that he brewed each pot with such care just for them. I am sure all of us will think of him whenever we see a Starbuck’s.

I also remember when you flew into Philadelphia for the Cézanne Exhibit and Mike brought you to our home for a Moroccan Dinner, so he could introduce you to some of his co-workers. Mike was proud of you and all could tell that you were a couple that not only loved each other, but still liked each other very much.

I can only imagine what you and your family are going through right now, but I pray that some day you will be blest with the memories of what you have had, rather than what you have lost.

Dear Mary Ann,
We want to express our sympathy on Mike's passing. I enjoyed working with Mike several times during his tenure at SEI, and Lydia & I both enjoyed Mike's and your company at President's Club in Hawaii. We will remember Mike with a donation to the American Cancer Society.

When Stacy called and told me of Michael's passing, words cannot explain my sorrow.

Dear Mary Ann, Family and Friends,
Words cannot express what we are feeling with the loss of Mike. I will truly miss calling Mike and asking him how to make certain recipes. Whenever we have our crab cakes (with Crab Louie Dip, his specialty), we will think of him. We are so sorry we are in Florida and cannot attend the services.
