" In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing.
And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing. When you look at the sky at night... you- only you- will have the stars that can laugh! And when your sorrow is comforted, you will be content that you have known me."
You are at peace now, Mike.

Dear Jimmy and brothers,
We loved your dad. He was always so kind to us every time we talked to him. He was so generous to all the teens to let them all come over to your home so often. Carleasia said he was always so nice to her.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know if we can do anything for any of you. We will be there in a heartbeat!
Rely on your catholic faith at this time of need to help you. God hears all of your prayers, we just have to remember to ask Him to be there for us!!

Dear Crane Family, Susu, and Boys,
Michael was a great man. He touched a lot of peoples' lives in one way or another. He will never be forgotten and always remembered as an inspiration to people around him; an amazing father; and a loving, caring, and loyal friend. I send you my deepest sympathy and support through this difficult time. I ask God to guide and comfort you. I would also like to share a message of comfort on the passing of beloved Michael, "Hard working hands are at rest, a golden heart stopped beating, God proved to us that he only takes the best." Good men must die but death can never kill their names. Michael Crane will always live in our thoughts and hearts. He left us with many happy memories. His life should be celebrated for the amazing person he was and the way he touched everyones' lives in one way or another.

Dear Crane Family, SuSu & Boys
Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. My Family and I wanted to share this message with you to comfort you and we ask God to help you during this difficult time. I know that words seem inadequate to express the sadness you feel at the loss of a very great man, and although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.
"When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of beloved Mike.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to get to know Mike. He was extremely kind, generous, caring, and very personable. In the little time we have spent with him, it is very obvious his children were the most important thing to him. He cared for them so much and was a great father. Our hearts and prayers go out to the boys. You should be very proud of your father and if there is anything you were not able to tell him before he passed, you can tell him in your prayers, he will hear it. He will be truly missed. Stay strong, God bless.

Dear Crane Family,
I didn't know Mike for a long time, but as his flight instructor, I got to know a great deal about him during the many hours we spent together recently. I truly enjoyed his company and will miss him. Learning to fly is an emotional endeavor and you tend to get close to your students rapidly. He was kind and funny and we laughed a great deal. He talked about his sons a lot. He was trying to live life to its fullest and was very excited about flying and truly learning to master this new challenge he had set for himself. I am truly sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Mike, you were an outstanding caring and loving man who cared a great deal about the people around you. You welcomed everyone, and enjoyed life with a great bright smile. You were a rock for many people, and your thoughts and opinions were always valued. By truly being loved and respected you achieved a rare thing that people often can’t. You made you, and you judged no one. You were an inspiration to many people (even when you didn’t know it) with the mind of a warrior and a heart of gold. You left the world five amazing boys that will soon grow into their own, and be tremendously accomplished men with great qualities that you as the amazing father you were had been able to instill into them. I know you will continue to protect and watch over them along with all the people you loved most. You always seemed to know how to take the father role you loved and stay a kid at heart. Although, you left too soon we are all grateful for having the opportunity to know you in some way or another. Many people are hurting from this because you left too soon and sudden but I know you are in a better place.
Mike, you will be greatly missed but with deep respect you will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace
My deepest sympathy to the Entire Crane Family and Loving Friends, my heart continues to poor out to you all and my God be with you and give you strength to carry on through the tough times. I believe Michael Crane will always be with you all and by your side.

The Crane Family has been apart of my life since they lived across the alley from me on Stewart Street in Evanston.
A couple memories of Michael stick out the most. Sue had invited me for a sleep over at the Birch Street House. Sue and Mike told me how creepy the house kitty corner to them was. Then Mike told me a really scary story about the house and said he would ride his bike over there and ring the bell and run. Sue and I watched from Mike's bedroom window, crouched down really low, and watched Mike ride up the driveway and out of sight behind some trees. Then he didn't come back. I was so scared that the creepy house got him. Next thing I remember he was back in the Crane house scaring me. Mind you I was about 10 yrs old. I think I was the guinee pig for a lot of tricks he and Sue would play on me. Sue once told me that a summer home they rented in Crytal Lake was haunted by a ghost named Felicity. Because Mike backed up that story, I believed it. He was a good story teller.
My prayers are with all of you during this time. I know Mike is with Lee now and smiling down on you. They both will always be there watching over your families. Please know that his memory remains alive in the hearts of his family and friends who knew and loved him.
God Bless.
