CERUNDOLO, Michael A. 85, of Needham, passed away on May 28, 2016. He is the husband of Mary (Rizzuto), and father of Debra Cerundolo of Newton, Diane Cerundolo of New Hampshire, Michael S. Cerundolo of Needham, Rhonda Bodkin and her husband Andrew of Dover, and Lisa Bruzzese and her husband Frank of Boston. Michael is grandfather to Lauren, Nicole, Manuel, Miguel, Risa and Nona, and great grandfather to Logan. Son of the late Maria (DelGrosso) and Salvatore Cerundolo, and brother of the late Rose Indorato, Michael is also survived by his sisters Anna Cerundolo and Mary Scolastico of East Boston, his brother Anthony Cerundolo and his wife Joyce of Canton, his brother- in-law Joseph Indorato of Brockton, his sister-in-law Betty DeSisto of Everett, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM on Thursday, June 2nd at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Born in Italy, Michael immigrated to the U.S. as a boy. Raised and educated in East Boston, he was a natural athlete, excelling in football, baseball and track and field. An avid bodybuilder as a young man, Michael enjoyed honing his impressive physique. He had an affinity for culture and the arts, and was a self-taught expert in both history and opera. Michael was known to hit the high notes when singing along to his favorite arias. He enjoyed dancing, hunting, being in the woods, and field trials with his beagles. He was a member of the "fraternity of fry" and one of his favorite pastimes was basking in the sunshine while conversing with friends at the beach. Michael loved his family and friends, had a kindness for animals and also enjoyed an occasional cigar. Michael was proud to have served as a medic in the Massachusetts National Guard. He was a master plumber, and worked for the MBTA for many years, including as a foreman, before retirement. Michael will be truly missed, but his intelligence, wit and charisma will be remembered forever more. For obit, directions or to share a memory of Michael, please visit: www.eatonfuneralhomes.com.
