I met Mike around 2013 when I was developing wind energy projects in Illinois for Invenergy. Mike was incredibly helpful as I navigated work that was new to me and quickly we became friends and colleagues. In 2014, Mike because our permitting counsel for a particular project and soon enough we were eating the early bird special before permit hearings at the couple local restaurants available near this particular courthouse in central Illinois. We'd dine and chat about work, our strategy, but also about life and family and hobbies (oh how he loved his bikes and to dive!). Whenever I eat a crappy iceberg lettuce salad from a salad bar, I will think of Mike and our time together on that project. He always added tons of radishes! I couldn't tell you why I remember that...
When our first hearing was finished, I had scotch for the first time with Mike and our team. Whenever I was walking with Mike down a street, he insisted to walk closer to the street than me and would exclaim "chivalry isn't dead!". He had a great sense of humor and taught me so much over the years: about permitting, how to be prepared, how to approach specific situations, how to present a case, the list goes on and on. I miss him very much and am sending all of my love to his family, his dear friends and to Patti. Rest in peace, Mike.

I met Mike and Patti 2 1/2 years ago when I purchased their beautiful home on Sherwood in Westchester. As we talked we laughed at how many things we had in common; Chicago, Fenwick, Loyola,Dugan´s, Vexelman, CPD friends and more. We spoke at length about many topics. As I looked around the house I was touched by the Judaica displayed and the Mezuzah on the front door. Principles they lived. When the Blazers found out I was facing major surgery they most kindly offered to move up the closing date. As I thanked Mike and Patti from the bottom of my heart, Mike said "you are our mitzvah." Indeed. A toast to a life well lived, "L´Chaim.

Mike Blazer was one of the first people I met at Loyola Law School so many years ago. A great addition to our class and a very nice guy. I'm sure he will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Mike was an incredibly special person - the kind of guy you wanted in your corner but didn't want to be across the table from in litigation (only at dinner) :)
Mike's depth of experience in the clean energy and permitting world meant that he approached every problem and bump in the road with a preternatural calm and he had the unique ability to somehow transfer that energy to a whole project team. When you worked with Mike, you knew somehow that everything was going to be ok. And if it wasn't, he would have the perfect turn-of-phrase or colloquialism to describe a disaster while making you laugh.
I will miss him greatly and I know his family and friends will too.

Mike was the very first person at Invenergy to reach out to me when I joined the company. While extremely busy, he always found time to talk to me, whether it was work-related/mentoring or personal. We spent considerable time telling each other about our family histories and Jewish experiences. He was truly a great man, intelligent and witty, and a dear friend and confidant who I will miss greatly. My deepest condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing.

Howie and I are shocked to receive this news. As Mike and Howie shared a love of Churchill, we brought back something for him from our recent trip to London. Although it was a short friendship, it really mattered. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

I was so sorry to hear the news of Mike's passing. As a Chicago-area environmental attorney, I knew Mike through various legal matters. He is a highly respected environmental attorney, ethics beyond reproach and a gentleman. He will be missed among our environmental bar. My condolences to his family on this tragic loss.

The length of time you know someone does not determine the impact a person makes upon one´s life!
We lost someone whom we´ve not known for a real long time, yet one who impacted our family´s life in such an unexpected and beautiful way! Mike was the embodiment of life, love, family, thoughtfulness, caring, and selflessness. We are thankful for the memories of beautiful times shared together with him and Patti, and we are grateful for the impact he made in our lives. Mike left us too soon, and though we feel his loss greatly, we also feel grateful for the blessing Mike was to us!
Our hearts break for you, Patti. Our prayers go out to you and to your family during this very difficult time.

We were so thrilled to meet you and Mike as our new neighbors on Water Lily Terrace. We felt an immediate bond with you and Mike and enjoyed our first summer crush winery adventure and that wonderful day playing in your pool with my grandchildren and eating watermelon! We are so devastated by his sudden loss and he will be forever missed. May his memory be a comfort to you. Sending our love. Sue and Mark

In my one year at Invenergy, Mike became invaluable to me. Although constantly working, he always had time to answer a question or address a concern. He was my confidant, mentor and friend. I will miss him greatly. My condolences to his family on the loss of this great man.

We were so extremely sad to hear this sorrowful news. We did not know Michael well but were so touched by his kindness and generosity during our fundraiser for Ukraine. We had so wanted to get to know him better.
Our heart goes out to Patti and the family for such an unfathomable loss.
