Merrick Hiott Obituary

HIOTT, Merrick ROUND O - Mr. Merrick H. Hiott, husband of the late Ella Mae Beach Hiott, died Wednesday afternoon at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was 97. Mr. Hiott was born in his family home at Round O on November 27, 1908; a son of the late Benjamin Hiott and Maggie Fender Hiott. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #338, and was the founder and president of Green Meadow Hunting Club. He was a retired farmer, cattleman, and timber grower. Survivors include a son, Michael "Mike" Hiott of Round O; four grandchildren, Josie Hiott Overman of Lake Jackson, TX, Mary Sue hiott Spacey of Wadmalaw Island, Stephen Hiott of Round O, and Melissa "Sissy" Hiott of Charleston. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Hiott, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Doctor's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, one hour prior to services.
