Maylon Walton Obituary
Willow Spring
Mr. Maylon Amos Walton, age 85, of 635 Mt. Pleasant Road went to be with the Lord on Sunday at his home. Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, Angier. Officiating will be Rev. Doug Anders and Brother Mack Fowler. Burial will follow in Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Walton was born in Johnston County, NC on November 9, 1926 to the late Amos and Alice Stephenson Walton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jordan Walton, and brother, LaVerne W. Walton. Mr. Walton was a lifetime farmer.
Surviving are Daughters, Betty W. Brinkley of Raleigh, Shelby W. Johnson of Dunn, Alice W. King of Willow Spring, and Kimberly J. Walton of Willow Spring; Sons, Danny M. Walton of Willow Spring and Randy W. Walton of Creedmoor; Sisters, Omalene W. Barefoot of Willow Spring, Elizabeth W. Wedding of Willow Spring, Charlotte A. Walton of Willow Spring, and Katherine W. Pope of Dunn; Brother, Robbie H. Walton of Willow Spring; 10 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and a Great Great Granddaughter.
Family will receive friends at Friendship Baptist Church, 416 Greenleaf Road, Angier, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday and other times at the home of Alice King, 575B Mt. Pleasant Road, Willow Spring, NC 27592.

Mr. Walton will always be apart of the wonderful memories/stories we share. He spent hours sharing local history and light-hearted stories...like "the time milk got the lowest". Take comfort in knowing that he brightened the lives of so many...we loved his homemade business cards and walking in the field of turnips...I always could pull up the biggest ones and he said he was going to let me drive his tractor because he knew I was "a real farm girl". He will be missed.
