I had the pleasure of knowing Max for almost 20 years. A great guy with a quick sense of humor, Max was totally dedicated to his job, whether it was in telecommunications, public works, downtown project management, or homeland security for the City of Evanston, and in his post-municipal career. He gave everything he did 110%. To Illinois NATOA, Max provided a spirit and commitment that made him a respected leader. To those who knew him, Max was a "Mensch" and he will be missed very much. To Max's family and friends, I send my sympathy and condolences. May God bless his memory.

Max was a past member of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) as well as the Illinois Chapter (ILNATOA). He had so many friends in both organizations that will miss not only his experience and insight, but his fun way of looking at life, his humor and especially the energy he brought with him when he entered a room. Max will be missed.

I met Max many years ago through our work with NATOA. Max was a capable administrator, a good friend, a fair sailor and a pretty good actor. I will miss him. My condolences to his family and friends. Shalom, my friend.

I knew Max our whole lives. We were a strong tie to the past--his parents and mine. I will greatly miss the man who always kept in touch, made me smile, and was a real "mensch". In my last conversation with him before his surgery I had never heard him happier. He loved his children and had found a soul mate. He was a good man, and it is a loss to everyone who knew him.

May he rest in peace.

I worked for 12 years with Max with the Evanston Fourth of July Association. As a trustee and then trustee emeritus, Max was committed to putting on an entertaining AND safe show to celebrate our nation's birthday. I enjoyed working with him on these events because they brought together so many of his talents- public safety, love of country and putting on a great show! The lakefront show, parade and Central Steet flags won't be the same without Max!!

I met Max through our work together on parking projects. In all our dealings he was enlightened, enthusiastic and fair -- a real mensch through and through. It's unjust to have to be missing him so soon. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Max and I sailed together on Lake Michigan in the early 80's.
I saw him perform once in later years. Max was an accomplished sailer and a lot of fun to be around. Memorable was crewing on his Catalina 22 and him sailing into the start of the Chicago - Mac race for a better look.
He will be missed by many.

The members of Windy City Soaring Association are saddened with the loss of Max who was one of our founding members. It was always a joy when Max was around the airfield. He enlightened us with his friendship, smile, jovial spirit and quick wit. He always provided his assistance when member help was required. Max loved planes and anything to do with aviation. He was in his element trading aviation stories (hangar flying). He will be truly missed. Our Condolences to his family and friends

I had the privilege of calling Max my friend. We worked at InterPark and got to see some of his plays. To his family, I extend my deepest condolences. He seemed to enjoy life to the fullest, so what I will keep with me is all the great things that made him who he was (we adopted him as an honorary brother to 7 sisters).

Max was truly a joy to work with--upbeat, supportive and fun to be around. He did my makeup at Overshadowed for a show several years ago and I have considered him a friend since. May memories of all the good times together help to bring his family and friends comfort.

I did not know Max on a personal level only as a attendee of Overshadowed. Though not a personal friend he brought joy and beauty to my life through his artful education through theater. I am grateful to see such a dedicated man who gave his time to spread God's word. I can't even imagine the loss his friends and family feel. Thank you Max for your gift of helping spread God's teaching.
