Funny how time flies. I still remember that Iggy-Lad thumbing home on Western Ave and calling for him to come on over. As his pals ran for the hills Michael kind of froze transfixed; after all, how could a policeman at 39th Street know who he was. But then hearing his name he came to my squad car. We could only give him a lift to 55th Street [Garfield Blvd.] because that is where my district ended. did not have occasion to help many I knew, but that was one of those times. And did Matt get a kick out of it, too! Off to South Florida, Chicago in total disarray, It is people like the Malones Chicago is missed every once in awhile. Seems like just yesterday Matt's notice first appeared. But now Mrs. Malone has joined Matt. My dad, who always thought Matt was his good buddy, has also left us. Time goes oh so fast as we age. Best to all in the Malone lineage.

It was my pleasure to have known Matt for so many years. We met and became friends at DePaul Univ. We ended up working in allied industries and stayed in touch for many years. He had an uncanny talent for staying in touch with friends. He will be in my memory until the end.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Malone family, Kay, Sheila and Michael. I knew Matt for 58 years, and couldn't ask for a better friend. I don't think I knew a more intelligent, quick-witted individual than Matt. There was hardly a month that we didn't visit by phone or letter. I will miss him and will hold him in my thoughts and prayers.

Mat Malone was a class act, pure gentleman and a true friend. Upon hearing he was leaving us was a very sad day. When he did, indeed, leave us, the world took a turn for the worse. One can never replace a Matt Malone in this world. From me and mine to himself's own, my humble condolences.

I have known Matt since he was an office boy at Sciaky Bros. while he attended Leo. We became good friends and he was a member of my wedding party. Unfortunately after we both had families, we kind of lost touch, although he was at our 40th wedding anniversary party. I will always treasure knowing Matt, a true gentleman and scholar. My sincerest sympathy to Mrs. Malone and Matt's family.

What a wonderful man who was always there to help my family. Great sense of humor and a great love for life. Brilliant, well-read, and relished a good political discussion as any good Southside Irishman would. His only weakness was his love for the Cubs. God Bless you Uncle Matt!
