I was so blessed to have had Mrs. Burrell as a teacher 4 different times, for 4 different classes throughtout my middle and high school years. She was truly an inspiration to myself and to so many others, and I feel honored to have known her. I wish that words could describe the impact that she had on my life; just last week I was sharing her stories with some of my friends. She will be deeply missed, and I send my heart out to all of her family and friends. May you find peace knowing that she touched so many lives.
God bless and rest in peace, Mrs. Burrell. You will always have a very special place in my heart and memory.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. You can always find comfort in him because he "made the world and all the things in it." (Acts 17:24) His word assures us that he is, not far off, but "near to all those calling upon him." (Psalm 145:18)

Mrs. Burrell was a talented and caring teacher. She will be greatly missed by everyone that ever experienced her warmth and love at Milton. My condolences go to the family.

Ms. Burrell was such a very special teacher for our son at Milton and through her instructions taught him great lessons about our responsibilities for our environment. She also was so gracious in allowing me to help on a field trip to Smithgall which was most instructive-especially about the trout in the streams there. She will be greatly missed by us all.

Maryellen contributed her talent for teaching science and serving in a leadership role while we were at Crabapple Middle School together. My journey with this extraordinary teacher began when the doors of Crabapple were opened in 1983 and when I closed that chapter of my life in 1991. During the years that Maryellen and I were colleagues, I came to appreciate her love of science, her service to the community, and her unwavering loyalty to her friends, and to me. She will be missed greatly--but she will never be forgotten. Students she taught will carry on her legacy and love of science instilled by her. My deep sympathy to Dick and other family members.
