Mary Walsh Obituary

Walsh, Mary Helen

Mary Helen (Dominik) Walsh, 81 of Taylorville, IL, passed away on March 24, 2024, at her residence. She was born on July 14, 1942, in Blue Island, IL, to Stanley Dominik and Mary (Miklovic) Dominik. On May 12, 1968, she married Patrick Walsh in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1996.

Mary worked as a nurse for 50 years. She was loved by all her patients and was a kind and giving person. She would be the first person to step up and provide comfort and help to anyone who needed it and was a wonderful mother and all-around great person. She was devoted to her husband, children, and anyone else who she considered to be her children. Mary will be remembered for her gentle heart and is missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Coleen Walsh of Taylorville, IL; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Dominik; her husband, Patrick Walsh; a son, Patrick Walsh Jr.; and brothers, Martin, Thomas, John and Ben Dominik.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Manhattan, IL. Funeral Mass will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Mike McMahon officiating. Entombment will take place at the Mausoleum of the Archangels in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, IL. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
