Tromanhauser, Mary Lou

Mary Lou Tromanhauser (nee, Mohr), 87, of Chicago, died peacefully on 12/23/23/ giving her final curtain call surrounded by her family. Mary Lou was a charismatic, larger than life dance teacher, Feldenkreis practitioner and spiritual seeker. She was a true Queen of Hearts, with a radiant smile to light up any room.. Mary Lou shared her passion for the arts and learning with her students, friends and family until the end. For over 30 years she owned and operated Mary Lou's Academy of Movement on the NW side. Generations of kids have been touched by her love for dance and performing. Her life was an epic performance.

Survived by her loving children, Tim (Cindi), Tom, Susan (Patrick O'Donnell), and Brian (Kari) Cronin.

Grandchildren Matthew (Shannon), and Eric (Taylor) Cronin, Caitlin (Ken Miranda), Geoff, and Jack Cronin (their mother Maureen Butler). Rachel and Jessica O'Donnell, Chloe and Kevin Cronin.

Great Grandchildren, Connor, Carson and Wyatt Cronin.

Devoted sister Joanne Bowers (Earl). Numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Edward, aka Fast Eddie. Longtime residents of Oak Park and Westchester, together they planted beautiful gardens, restored a historic home, read voraciously, traveled ,danced, and cherished their time with friends, family and the grandkids.

Mary Lou requested a celebration of life party instead of a more traditional service and if you know her that should not be a surprise. Sorry to hear of her passing. She was my mom's (Gisela R Chahal) friend in late 70s and 80s until my mom lost touch after she moved to California. My mom lived in Oak Park at that time and I think Mary Lou did too. I recently discovered some momentos from Mary Lou as I was going through my mom's possessions, who had also just passed away a few months ago at the age of 90.
