Mary was one of the first Auxilians I met when I came to work at Resurrection in 1991. She was a tremendous resource for me, because of her long association with the Hospital and the Sisters of the Resurrection -- she knew about every person and every thing I asked her about. But she was also a tremendous inspiration. In so many ways, she expressed her dedication to our ministry and to the larger community served by Resurrection Hospital. Her work in the Bargain Basket was legendary, except that she always made it seem more fun than work. She will always be remembered here with love and gratitude.

My deepest condolences to the family of Mrs. Root. I worked with Mrs. Root for 9 years on Northwest Highway. My memories of her working at the Bargain Basket (wearing her pink coat) and for Resurrection Hospital. She was a "classy lady". My prayers are with you.

Dear Mary: Please accept my condolences. Your Mother was a lovely lady and fine neighbor. When I would come back up to Chicago, I would drive by the house and zip past your Mother's house. I would smile.
Bless you and your family...Barb
