I met Sister when she was missioned at St. Johns in my home town of Ypsilanti. She helped me through a difficult time when my father was dealing with AA issues. She was the only person who made me feel comfortable about discussing this issue.

A very special class for Sr Mary Therese (Sr Frances Eugene OP is the class of 1961 from St John the Baptist, Ypsilanti, MI). Up to the death of Sister the 21 classmates stayed close together and also with Sister. Every 5 years we had a Class Reunion, Sister was on the top of the list and it was held in Ypsilanti, Adrian and Illinois where ever Sister was located......a very special bond.

We remember visiting Therese & her great love for ice crème cakes which we had to split three ways. Her warmth & friendship was something we'd so appreciate during our Chicago visits. If we didn't visit, Oh, boy! We will miss you. Debbie & Erik Vagenius

I met Therese in Oct. 1973 at Lutheran General Rehab (LGH) thanks to a former counselee of hers who strongly urged me to follow him. Therese was a "convent mate" of a nun I had in grades 7 & 8. We had many chats on how she & Sr. Sophie kept the Adrian Dominican Convent on its toes. We met annually at LGH for Alumni days & became even closer after I wet to work at Guest House (GH) & became active in the National Catholic Council on Addiction (NCCA). I had the honor of nominating her for the first Sr. Ignatia Award given by NCCA. She also became the first Director of the Guest House Program for Women Religious. Therese was instrumental in guiding me to establish Substance Addiction Ministries (SAM)in the Diocese of Palm Beach & eventually throughout the USA & Canada to help the People of God find Hope, Healing, & Reconciliation in their search for sobriety. Therese, I thank God for your generosity, sacrifice, wisdom, & companionship in our mutual journey. Till we meet again, Debbie's & my love & gratitude. Erik Vagenius

Sister Therese was a very special person in my life. She was the spiritual adviser to my Aunt Joan (O'Riordan). During the last year of my aunt's life, Sister Therese visited the nursing home every Sunday. There, the three of us kept great company. I will never forget Sister Therese's kindness and compassion during that loving and spiritual year.
In deep sympathy for your loss.

Dear Golden family: My deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your beloved sister and aunt. I remember her well as a strong and spiritual woman and dear friend to my late mother, Joan, who admired her greatly over many years of friendship. My thoughts are with you and I wish you all the peace that passes all understanding.
