Mary Pauline Gaskell Albion Mary Pauline Gaskell, age 87, of Albion, passed away Friday, July 4, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 27, 1920 in Rydal, Kansas to Edward and Jennie (Bowling) Fraser. She graduated from 8th grade rural school and in 1938 from Norway High School, Norway, Kansas. She worked in sales until moving to Michigan in 1946, where she worked at Albion's Starr Commonwealth, retiring as Secretary in the Computer Department. She was married to Hubert Gaskell in 1962. They were active in many areas, including several Masonic organizations, until his last illness, when Mary Pauline provided care for him in their home for three years before he died January 5, 2001. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Albion for over 50 years, attending church regularly and participating actively in the Women's Circle. She was also a member of the Albion Eastern Star and the Stella chapter of Homer. She also served as Worthy Matron for 10 years. She was an active member of the Albion Hospital Service League, and received a 25-year award for her service to blood banks for the Red Cross. She also belonged to the Albion American Legion Auxiliary and the wives of the Marshall Commandry. She is survived by 3 stepchildren, Mary (Rod) Wright of Centreville, Virginia, Bonnie (Steve) Perkins of Copley, Ohio, and Jon Gaskell of Clarkston, Michigan; 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Sister, Norma (Stan) Gavette of Scottsdale, Arizona; Brother, Russell (Dora) Fraser of Concordia, Kansas; sister-in-law, Elnora (Fraser) Whitney of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Nieces and Nephews, Janet (Ken) Schmidt of Salina, Kansas, Greg Fraser of Lincoln, Nebraska, Linda (Dave) Latham of Wentzville, Missouri, Jenee Gavette of San Francisco, California, David Gaskell and Marcia Mueller both of Battle Creek, Michigan. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her Parents, and Brothers Dale, killed on WWII, and Donald (Wilma) Fraser. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Finley Drive Chapel of the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Inc. An Eastern Star Service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Inc., 811 Finley Drive Albion, Michigan 49224 with the Rev. John Sterner officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
