Mary Beth,
Sorry we couldn't be there with you.. But you were in our thoughts and prayers. You now have your own personal angel to pray to. It gives me comfort to think of my mom that way. All our love.

Aunt Mary, you are the source of immeasurable inspiration for so many people. As a teacher, I make decisions every day based on lessons I learned from you. I hope that now that you are in Heaven, you know how much I will always treasure the gift of of being your niece. Love and prayers, Kathy

Grandma,
Thank you for the many things you taught me. Your love of the English language, and your devotion to reading and respect for books are some of the things I will pass on to my children. Your never ending help with my knitting has always helped. The biggest gift you gave to all of your grandchildren was the way you lived your life. You always told us that "there is no virtue in being a doormat", and you lived that motto everyday. I love you and I miss you.

Mary Beth Annes & family,
I was not able to join you @ the wake or funeral, but my thougths & prayers are with all of you. Enclosed is a Native American Prayer that was in a card sent to me when my mom died that has given me countless moments of peace. I hope it does the same for you.
"I give you this one thought to keep~ I am with you still~ I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints in the snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circles flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone~ I am with you still~in each new dawn."
thinking of you, Dale Hornyan-Toftoy & Ken Toftoy

Mom, we shared the same name, you taught me so many valuable lessons.
I learned some things quickly and some things slower, always questioning... but in the end your lesson was the right way... Thanks for making me who I am and I hope I can imitate you all the days of my life. Mary Elizabeth Frances Fogarty

My Grandma was loved by all. She was my advisor. She made me see the importance of being an independent woman. She also taught me how to make a bed and set a table correctly. I love my Gram dearly, and I will try to live my life as she would want me to. I will always treasure her in my memory.

Our dear grandmother, Mary... She was an inspriration to me personally. She was my advisor, role model, and my dear friend. We all could go to Grandma Fogarty looking for strong advise, and know she would help us with anything. She was a strong woman both in faith and finding the good in all people. I will miss her smiling face, her words of wisdom, and her perfectly scripted cards sent in the mail. We all love you, Grandy!
Love and Peace,
Clare

When I think of my Grandma Fogarty all I can do is smile. There was not a time that I can ever remember that she did not make me smile. She was truly an amazing woman, and we were all blessed to have her in our lives. Grandma had so many positive effects on so many people, I only hope I can do the same in my life. If not, I hope that one day I can make cheesecake comparable to hers. She was a great influence in my life, and always helped me when my rainbow cone was in trouble. So thank you Grandma for just being you. You will be truly missed, but I know you will be watching us so I know you are not to far away. I love you Gram!

I had this feisty teacher at Barton Elementary school who took no crap from the kids, but everyone loved her - a tough combo. Imagine my surprise when she became part of my family (Jim Voves is my cousin). She always classed up the joint. I saw her about a year ago, and she was still feisty. You had to love that.
ps - I checked my spelling over very carefully, just as she taught me.

If this is the Mary Fogarty who taught 8th grade at Peck elementary school at 57th and Springfield in Chicago, then I was her student in 1961-62. She treated me very special and made sure I had all sorts of advanced work in preparation for a positive experience in high school and college. I owe her a great deal for encouragement and character.
My sincere sympathy.--Rita Stava Porzel

Many fond memories can be recalled by me of Grandma Fogarty since I married Maureen in 1956. However beyond the memories are her enduring qualities of adaptibility to the times and forgiveness as well as her hope to seek resolutions to difficult situations. She truly reflected the spirit of fairness a lady of wisdom, understanding and hope for the future.Concern for her family and friends extended to all.She always remembered someone's special day ...birthdays,anniversaries, etc..inspite of losing her partner Ed Fogarty 40 years ago. She truly was a great role model for all of her daughters and her many grandchildren...a lady..a legacy of our time. She inspired me and I loved her. Bob
