Dear Chick and Family;

I am so sorry to hear about Toots. She was an incredible lady full of hope with such a positive spirit. I have such fond memories of growing up on Oak St. with her funny sense of humor, taking care of all the kids on the street and making sure we all stayed out of trouble. We loved spending time in the summer at Gunns pool, while she helped us learn how to swim, and always kept tabs on us as we grew up. Toots genuinely cared about us and she was especially proud of her family and grandkids. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Linda

Dear Chick and family,

I am really saddened to hear of Toot's passing. Her great personality and welcoming manner is something I will remember forever. She was a beautiful person who I am proud to have known for over 50 years, from the early days at Portage Park, the Water Shows, and group trips to Riverview on the bus, to seeing her at the AAU swim meets, the high school and college meets at ISU! She was always there for her family, and for the man who was the love of her life.

May God be with you, Chick, and your fine family. PEACE.

Traci and family,

On behalf of the grown children of the former “Oak Street Gang” we are very saddened to hear of “Toots'” passing. Know that we all will never forget her kindness and generosity and the imprint she left on all of us. We were all blessed to have been a part of her life. Only the lucky few can ever say they were exposed to having several “Moms” in one neighborhood to watch over them. She was definitely one of the best!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
