Dear Terry, Katie and Kay,
Going back to school next week will not be the same without Mary Kay there. I will always remember her signing out on the last day of school. So happy to be sharing Katie with her class and us.
I am so sorry to have missed the wake and funeral. One of the perks of working for a school. Vacations are in the summer. All of you were in my thoughts and heart while we were traveling. God bless you all. Love, Joann

what a wonderful teacher mary kay was. i had the opportunity to meet her at st catherines in the early 1980's. she taught my daughter and then my son. as a new single parent and having just returned to my southside roots i needed all the help i could get in raising my children. when i approached mary kay with my needs she was wonderful to me and my children. what a delight it was to get reaquainted with her when katie was in first grade and so was my niece samantha vestal. mary kay and i saw each other at softballl games, basketball games and volleyball gamesoverthe years. my last lengthly conversation with her took place while she was recovering from her pneumonia. it was at a volleyball game at st catherines and she commented it was her first time back since leaving her teaching position there. i know she was having difficulty getting rid of her cough, sore throat and loss of her voice. she was concerned about her brother's heart issues. i am so saddened that she is gone. what a blessing that she saw katie make her first holy communion. the mass was a beautiful service and i was so pleased i was able to witness the love of her family. i will always remember her and will find comfort in watching her beautiful and lovely daughter mature in the years to come.

To the Bangs and Payne Families,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved wife, mom, daughter and sister. I knew Mary Kay when we were students at St. Xavier. It's so hard to believe that someone who I remember so young, vibrant and full of life is no longer on this earth. I last saw Mary Kay about 3 months before her Katie was born. I remember that she was so happy and excited at the prospect of becoming a mother. I pray that you may feel God's presence as He wraps His arms around all of you and know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many.

I haven't seen Mary Kay in years since our old St. Walter's days together, but I remember her ready smile and her warm eyes. I see from the other entries the dedicated wife, mother and teacher she became. Her love will live on in all the lives she touched. Godspeed, old friend.

Mary Kay always brought joy and laughter to our classrooms at St. Walter. She was a good friend, always ready with a quick smile and a quick quip. No one ever doubted her friendship or loyalty.
I have had few occasions to see Mary Kay in the many years since we left St. Walter, but I am grateful for each time we met. It’s always great to see someone from those formative years in our lives, but it was especially nice to see Mary Kay.
God bless you on your journey, Mary Kay. The hard part is over; the gift of eternal, joyous life has begun. We will pray for your family and friends, and will always remember you.

Terry, Katie, and Payne Family,
Steve and I are so very sorry for your loss and you are all in our prayers and thoughts. Mary Kay was a very special person and you were all very special to her. I remember as a young girl when she would babysit for us she would call and check on her brothers to make sure they were doing ok and she would make sure Joe would say his prayers and she ended every call with an I love you. Mary Kay will always be remembered as a loving, giving and kind person and she will never be forgotten. May you all find peace and comfort in knowing that she is not suffering anymore and she is in a better place.
