Mickey, or Mr. Weiss, as I called him years ago was a caring and wonderful businessman. His efforts helped to employ hundreds throughout our Northwest Indiana region and he always gave back to his communities. Even today, his family still embraces the Weiss Family roots by giving back. The world is a better place due to Mr. Weiss being here. RIP and may his memory be eternal.

Condolences to your family from mine. My parents, John & Mildred Nicksic, moved to 360 Chase St in 1949, one block over from where the first Wise Way would be. I vaguely remember the store on 4th Ave with the wooden floor, the meat counter in the back and the ice cream cooler by the door. Mickey always told me I'd have a job, but I went in a different direction. How I remember the little circus he'd bring to Ambridge. I remember the excitement of riding an elephant there. And roller skating into the store and buying a 17 cent loaf of Silvercup bread, and dime cakes. So many wonderful memories of that neighborhood of which your family was a part of. Thank you for sharing.

To The Family,
Mickey is at peace. Think of the good times and smile. For comfort read in the Tanak Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8,11-15,17,19,20 & 22. I remember one night, we both thought that a class was at the synagogue but found out differently, we did get there somewhat late but we made it. May the Creator give you comfort and joy.

To the Family of Mickey Weiss;
My sincerest condolences on the loss of your father. There were just a few occasions down thru the years when I had the opportunity to talk with Mickey. I came away very impressed with how kind and sincere and what a gentleman he was.
My wife, Cookie, joins me in expressing to you how sorry we were to hear of his passing.
Sincerely,
Jack Mayer

The word "mensch" describes Marvin "Mickey" Weiss. I had great regard for him and for your lovely mother. I worked with both in various organizations. Their generosity was well regarded.
May time and loving memories bring you comfort and peace.

Don and family, It was an honor to be part of the Wiseway family for almost 17 years, at several of the stores. I remember even when he was concerned about the business, he still had a smile on his face, and always took time to be a concerned boss. Rest in peace Micky. Joyce Montrosse, Mountain View, Mo.

My late father was an executive at Gary National Bank, and was well acquainted with Mr. Weiss. Anyone who knew Dad was aware that he was not one to lavish praise on those whom he felt were not worthy. To the Weiss family I will tell you that Mr. Weiss was one man that Dad held in the highest esteem. Now that I am familiar with his life story I can understand why Dad spoke of Mr. Weiss as he did. My condolences to all of you.

I was saddened to learn of the loss of Mickey. Those of us in Ambridge thought very highly of him. He was a gentleman. We were so proud of Mickey when the first WiseWay opened.

Don and family --I am so sorry for your loss.........It is a loss to many.
I thoroughly enjoyed both your mother and father--and working for the company. I have many fond memories of the smiles that we exchanged and conversations we had. Mr Weiss would call to check on the sales-- but always -each and every time--would ask how I and my family were doing. He was just a very sincere, kind and generous person. I am very blessed to have crossed paths with him.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences to the family. I was hired by Wiseway in 1966 and worked 7 years at the 5th & Ellsworth St store in Gary. At the time my father had just passed away and the job provided much needed support for my mom and I while I was in high school and college. Mr. Weiss was tough but always fair to me and I remember how he commanded the respect of his employees. Working at Wiseway were some of the most memorable years of my life.
