Marvin Rappaport Obituary
Born in York, he was the son of the late Paul R. and Bertha Wolf Rappaport and was a graduate of Swoyersville High School and Temple University School of Pharmacy.
Marvin owned and operated Jacobson Pharmacy, Kingston, for 33 years and was a member of Ahavas Achim Synagogue; Temple Israel Synagogue, Wilkes-Barre; the Jewish Community Center, where he was an avid bowler for many years; past president of Temple Israel School Board; and was a member of Kingston Council for 24 years. He enjoyed baseball and was a loyal Cleveland Indians fan.
Marvin is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Frank; daughters, Lisa Jacobs and her husband, Mark, Harrisburg; Sharyn Jones and her husband, Jason, Allentown; and Abby Spotts and her husband, Paul, Harrisburg; grandchildren, Nate, Maddie, Ryan, Eli, Jonah, Ally and Lexi; brother, Harvey Rappaport and his wife, Anne, Kingston; and one niece.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Rosenberg Funeral Chapel Inc., 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at their home in Kingston.

I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a very nice man who always had a kind word for me when we were growing up. In later years when I would stop at the pharmacy, he always spoke very proudly of his girls and the latest successes in your lives. Sorry to learn of Mr. Rappaport's passing. I served with him on the Kingston Council in the 1990s and he always was sincere, positive and helpful. His more than two decades of service on the Council is appreciated by everyone, and Jacobson Drugs is still remembered and missed.

My most sincere condolences to all the family. Marvin had a wonderful manner of making everyone feel like an instant friend. A rare quality that he carried with dignity and selflessness. I will truly miss Marvin and the rare occasions we did have together. I will remember him in my prayers.

Mrs. Rappaport and Family,
