I first met Marv when I was buying boxes from Iroquois Paper circa 1973. Over the years we became friends and enjoyed each other's company. In later years, he and Selma would invite my wife, Renee, and I to sail with them. I wasn't a big fan of sailing, so Marv would always try to make it fun for me by letting me steer the boat. I remember their wonderful appartment at 1440, and Marv was one of two friends who convinced me to move into Chicago after my divorce in 1980. It was the right advice. Two of my favorite memories: (1) Marv, Selma, Renee and I having dinner at Vong. The most wonderful appetizer tray, and I ordered the Sea Bass which came out in a big bowl looking like a big crab cake sitting in broth. It was awesome! :) (2) Every year I write an Annual Update and send it out around Christmas time to family and friends. One year, after Marv & Selma began spending more time in Florida, and I was late in getting my update out, I got a call from Marv asking me if I had forgotten to send one to him as he enjoyed it so much. A few years ago, we stopped getting holiday cards, and I tried to contact him by calling the phone numbers I had, but didn't have any success. It was just a fluke that Renee happened to see the Obituary in today's (11/2/08) Tribune. I'm so glad she did. Marv was a wonderful man whom I enjoyed and had great respect for. Sincere condolences to all. Terry Leight & Renee Leight
