Dear Carol,
I learned from Jerry of Narv's passing with sadness and regret: sadness because he was a warm and steadfast friend, and regret, because I missed so many opportunities to see you both over the years. I hold a strong image of him coming down to the hotel lobby for our 50th reunion, and booming"WHERE'S TARROW?" ,before embracing me in a bear hug. I wish you and your family peace and nachas in the years to come.

Dear Carol,
It is with great sadness that I offer to you and your family my heartfelt condolences on Marv's passing.
Although our meetings were few over the years, they were precious nevertheless. So will be my memories of him and the important part of our lives that we shared.
Marv always ended our conversations with "I love you."
Same back atcha, dear friend. Rest.

I was very saddened to read in the Sun Times of Marvin Gittler's passing this past week. I worked at the law firm in the early 70's, for about 9 years, it was my first job as a legal secretary, and I have many fond memories of all the wonderful people there. Marvin Gittler was a great attorney and a great human being. May he rest in peace. I would like to extend My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the family.
Sincerely,

Bryna and I were very saddened to read in the paper of Marvin's passing. We extend our sincere condolences to the entire family and pray that his memory will always be a blessing.
We have very fond memories of our times together in Hyde Park. Those were good years for our family as our girls were growing up.
We are pleased that the relationship continued with members of the family as we moved to Highland Park.
May you all gain much strength from the fact that Marv made a difference in your lives and in our world. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Michelle and Family,
I will never forget the support your father gave to you when you gave lectures years ago to medical groups. He would be standing in the back of the room. A very proud father who showed his love through the way he lived. The world is a much better place because of your Dad. My. Heartfelt sympathy to you all.

It was a great pleasure to know Marvin, to have the chance to work with him, and to appreciate his friendship and dedication.
Everyone who knew him liked and respected him; and that's very rare. I feel that something is gone out of this city that can't be replaced.

I knew Marvin Gittler for 20 plus years while working for Sherman, Dunn in DC. He was an incredibly compassionate man with a great laugh. I always looked forward to seeing him at the BCTD Conferences. He would envelop me in one of his famous bearhugs and ask about my children. He was particularly wonderful when my mother died.
He will be missed and I cherish my friendship with this wonderful man.

Booming presence describes perfectly how I remember the King of the Gittlers, the quintessential Papa Bear. The Yackers and the Gittlers were the two families with all the girls. And we all adored our daddies. And they adored us. I know what a heavy heart is and I'm very much feeling that for the Gittlers now.

Marv was wonderful colleague, a true and loyal friend. Always there when he was needed. Funny, but brilliant - and smart. My very special condolences to Carol and the "girls" (how I remember them). I have a heavy heart. Marv, I am thinking of you, my friend.
