Dear Family of Marv Finks,



Our families were competitors for many years. It was always respectful and good.



If we got caught short, Marv always seemed to have 40,000 lbs on hand to ship...usually same day.

Dear Bobbie and family,

Dearest Bobbie and Family,

We are deeply saddened to hear about Marv's passing. He will always be remebered by us as a dedicated suplier, a mentor of the highest standards, and most of all--a friend. We often recall his generous spirit and unique sense of humor. Marv had an inate ability to make everyone feel good about themselves. We have so many wonderful Marv stories, from the "little people" to an awesome Neil Diamond birthday concert! Please be assured of our prayerful support during this most difficult of times. XOXO

Marv had and continues to have a LOT of admirers--and that's truly everyone who knew him. All of us will savor the time we had the fortune to spend with him.



I’m certain that each of us has special incidents that we have recounted in recent days. I have compiled a few of these memories that I believe best illustrate the unique personality of this dynamic person, whether he was part of your family or a friend.



Mr. Fink’s humor was obviously one of his best characteristics, recognizing that in every situation, whether serious, situational, observational, or reflective, there was always room to end a story, an anecdote, or lesson on a high note. Often times, following his trail of reasoning left you on a rollercoaster of emotion, but more times than not, he left you with a smirk or smile at the end of your discussion.



My memories include the exuberance he had for competing with Joel at tennis-ball or basketball, always coming in from outside, after the sun went down, with an eloquent story of how he won, or lost by just a fluke of luck, paralleling his accomplishment or defeat with that of the great moments of sports from so far back in history, that no one could possibly refute the truth to the story or not, or perhaps it was a more current event, for which it was apparent his delusional retrospect was beyond the bounds of reality. Nevertheless, you always knew, he truly loved the time spent with his youngest. Despite the length of the day, the events going on in his life, it was his baby, at 6’4” tall, 200+ pounds, that was cherished in every special way a father could love his own blood.



We all have our special memories of Marv. I hope we all take a moment to reflect this wonderful, warm, funny human being. For to reflect is to remember a great man, a man who gained our respect from his dedication to Bobbie, his family, his business, his friends made over a lifetime and those who he encountered through the many events that we all partake in in our busy lives. He remains a part of each of our memories. For those that knew him, he will certainly be missed, but will never be forgotten, which is truly a great honor for a person, to have others who will never forget their presence on earth, no matter how long or when they were here.

Adrienne and I were saddened by your loss.



Marvin was always such a joy to be around. To see him in the Bards Room with his undying love for our Sox was inspiring.



We are so glad that he lived to see a World Series Championship.

I want to offer my condolences to Bobbie Fink, as well as the entire family, friends and community of Marvin Fink.



My fond memories of Marvin Fink are of him wearing a referee's shirt, with a whistle on it, during the golden days of the MJ era. In the owner's club room over dinner, Mr. Fink would say, "I'm ready to go. Those refs get the calls wrong, I'm going in there!"



I also liked seeing him being quoted in the Chicago Tribune the day after his White Sox won the World Series.



I was able to see a lot of Bulls & White Sox games for free because of Marvin's generousity. I gained a lot of unreplaceable memories because of attending those sporting events and I am gratfeul to Mr. Fink for those too.



In seeing the kind of man his son (and my friend) David Fink is, I know the kind of man and father that Mr. Fink was and I am also thankful for that to.



I am thankful to have been exposed to the cheerfulness, honesty and humor that Marvin Fink gave to the world.



I also appreciate the wonderful life that Mr. Fink was able to experience. May we all be as blessed in life and in the joy of living life as Marvin Fink was.

To Bobbie (Mrs. Fink), Joel, Beth, David and the entire Fink family: My deepest heartfelt condolences on the passing of Marv. Through all the time I knew him, starting when I was a child and then later as an adult, he always had such a pleasant demeanor, great sense of humor and real zest for life. I know you all will miss him dearly--I will too, and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
